IN APPRECIATION: Ah Moi, a young elephant from the A’ Famosa Resort using her trunk to present a souvenir to the wife of the Acting Prime Minister, Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood, at the “Smart Kids 2003 – Into Their World” educational fair at the Putra World Trade Centre yesterday.

The elephant is one of the many side attractions at the three-day fair – organised by Expomal Network Sdn Bhd in close co-operation with Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (Penyayang) and the National Science Centre - which ends tomorrow.

Endon, who is also chairman of Penyayang, launched the fair and the Penyayang Smart Kids’ Charity Birthday Party, held in conjunction with the “first birthday” of the fair, dubbed Malaysia’s largest children’s educational fair.

She started the ball rolling by putting cash into donation bins placed at the exhibition halls after launching a donation drive to raise funds for 12 charitable homes at the event.

Expomal Network managing director L. S. Chan said the fair, aimed at a holistic approach in education, had hundreds of exciting activities designed to explore the inclinations and potential of today’s children.

Admission is free for those below 16 years old.
