PETALING JAYA: Employers who retrench workers by citing the on-going war in Iraq and the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak will be hauled up and ordered to justify their actions.
“Employers may face action if they are found to be using this uncertain period as an excuse to retrench workers,” warned Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr Fong Chan Onn here yesterday.
