PUTRAJAYA: A regular feature of past elections, the pondok panas, or stands put up by political parties near polling centres to enable voters to check their status and for last-minute canvassing on polling day, has been banned.
Effective from the next general election, only the Election Commission is allowed to set up their stands, to be called barong, within the compounds of polling centres to allow voters to check their status.
