CBT case transferred to Sessions Court

MACHANG: The case of a former accounts clerk, accused of criminal breach of trust of RM1.2mil belonging to Risda subsidiary Narsco Sdn Bhd, was ordered to be transferred to the Kota Baru Sessions Court. 

Magistrate Jamaluddin Mat made the order after an application by Deputy Public Prosecutor Azmi Ariffin who argued that the case was beyond the jurisdiction of the magistrate's court. 

Wan Rosmawati Wan Ismail, 40, of Pangkal Changgong, was accused of withdrawing RM1,218,163 via 93 cheques from1998 to1999. 

The offence was committed at Rumah Asap, Gading Galoh, Machang here. 

The charge under Section 467 of the Penal Code carries a 20-year maximum jail term for each charge and a fine.
