KUALA LUMPUR: Touting a potent mix of Broadway, operetta and opera songs, the stars from the Singapore Lyric Opera are in town for a special performance today and tomorrow at the Corus Hotel in Ampang.

Backed by the 35-member strong Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra, Broadway & Operetta in Concert featuring Franz Lehar's “The Merry Widow” will highlight some of the best-loved tunes from the popular Franz Lehar operetta The Merry Widow and favourites from other operettas such as The Student Prince and Die Fledermaus and Broadway musicals My Fair Lady and Guys and Dolls

The concert will bring together the voices of singers from the region – Filipino tenor Lamuel DelaCruz, Hong Kong-born soprano Nancy Yuen, and Singaporean soprano and tenor Wong Su Sun and Leow Siak Fah.

Philip Chai, conductor and chorusmaster for the Selangor Philharmonic Choir said yesterday: “We hope the public will see this specially put-together package of The Merry Widow.”

Today's performance is sold out but tickets for tomorrow's performance are at RM100, RM50 and RM30 at Ticket Charge (03-7726 2002).
