Dam project kicks off with RM1.8bil pact

KUALA LUMPUR: The revived Bakun hydroelectric dam project has kicked off with the signing of the agreement between Sarawak Hidro Sdn Bhd (SHSB) and its main contractor Malaysia-China Joint Venture (MCH JV) for the civil works portion (CW2) valued at RM1.8bil. 

The signing paved the way for MCH JV to undertake construction of the dam and other civil works under the package, which was awarded to the company on Sept 30 last year.
