Anwar's counsel: Judge erred over burden of proof

KUALA LUMPUR: The trial judge was wrong in placing an extremely high burden of proof on the defence to prove Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s alibi during the sodomy trial, a defence counsel submitted to the Court of Appeal yesterday. 

Counsel Christopher Fernando said High Court judge Justice Arifin Jaka had imposed a standard of proof “beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt,” which constituted a gross misdirection.
