KOTA KINABALU: Over 1,600 al-Qaeda members and “links'' have been arrested in 68 countries in the global war against terrorism following the Sept 11 terror attack on the United States.
US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Deputy Chief of Mission Robert Pollard yesterday said that law enforcement agencies of the various countries uncovered some 230 cells and groups linked to the al-Qaeda network.
