KUALA LUMPUR: Police scored a major success in their fight against terrorism with the recovery and seizure of four tonnes of ammonia nitrate, an essential material needed to make bombs, belonging to the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terrorist organisation linked to Osama bin Laden.
Police found the chemicals, with which the JI planned to build bombs to hit several American targets in Singapore, buried in a palm oil plantation in Muar, Johor, over the weekend.
