IPOH: The Perak DAP has asked police to carry out a thorough investigation into the alleged death threat which the party’s MP for Tanjong Chow Kon Yeow received on Sunday.

State opposition leader Nga Kor Ming said the police should also protect Chow and his family and reveal the findings of the investigations.

Newspapers had reported that two .38 calibre bullets were sent to the DAP headquarters on Sunday afternoon with a note stating “death, death, death” in Chinese.

In the note Chow was warned that he should just carry on with his duties and not be a “busy body”.

Nga, who is also Pantai Remis assemblyman told reporters during a press conference yesterday that the party was shocked that Bukit Mertajam MP Chong Eng was robbed twice over a period of 36 hours in Bukit Mertajam and Petaling Jaya recently.

He also urged the police and the Anti-Corruption Agency to set up a special task force to investigate DAP Socialist Youth's police report lodged last week on the involvement of triads in the MCA based on the allegations made by MCA Youth chief Datuk Ong Tee Keat.
