KUALA LUMPUR: A 23-year-old army private has been detained by police in connection with the death of his girlfriend, who fell from her apartment in Taman Desa yesterday.

The suspect, who is based at the Kinrara army camp in Puchong here, was picked up at the camp several hours after the incident.

He had planned to get engaged to Yusnita Harun, 25, a guest relations officer at a nightclub, next month.

Yusnita fell to her death from her apartment on the 10th floor of the Iris Apartment at about 1.50am.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Noh Kandah confirmed the arrest but declined to elaborate.

It is learnt that residents at the apartment heard a heated argument coming from Yusnita's apartment followed by a loud “bang”.
