PETALING JAYA: Seventy-four women including 66 foreigners were arrested at two premises in Sunway here on Thursday during an anti-vice raid led by Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo personally.

The women were picked up from a hotel and a massage parlour in the Mentari Business Park.

State Housing and Local Government chairman Datuk Mokhtar Dahlan was also present during the operation.

More than 30 officers from the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council assisted personnel from the state police contingent anti-vice division and Petaling Jaya Selatan police in the two-hour raid which began at 11.30pm.

The foreign women detained comprised 22 Indonesians, 21 Thais, 16 Chinese, four Uzbeks and three Cambodians.

Twenty-five local men, including clients and workers at both establishments, were also nabbed.

Some of the foreigners did not possess valid work documents while others had overstayed and were working illegally at the two establishments.
