PENANG: The RM300mil Penang Bridge widening project to create motorcycle lanes on both sides has been shelved because of funding problems, said Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.
He said when the project was planned several years ago, the Federal Government agreed to finance it with the agreement that the money would be repaid by Penang Bridge Sdn Bhd, the bridge’s concessionaire.
