KUALA LUMPUR: The Government did not see the need to take special security measures after the Sept 11 terrorist attacks on the United States and the Bali bombing incident because it regarded the country as safe for tourists.
Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Datuk Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir said statistics showed Malaysia was a safe country.
