KOLEJ YAYASAN Saad (KYS) in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, is ranked the best school in the state with half of a total of 64 SPM candidates scoring straight As.

KYS is a private college established in 1995 by Saad Foundation – a non-profit organisation headed by Tan Sri Halim Saad – providing free but quality education to selected students.

Aini Ayu Suriyadi, a KYS student who scored nine 1As, was happy with her SPM results.

“I aim for the best in my studies,” said Aini Ayu, the daughter of High Court judge Datuk Suriyadi Halim Omar.

Another nine 1As scorer, Fara Yazmeen Yaakup from Ampang, said she did not expect to have such good results. “ I am a competitive person,” she said.

The second best school in the state was MRSM Jasin and the third school was SM Sains Muzzaffar Shah.

Apart from the boarding schools, SM Infant Jesus Convent had the highest number of students scoring straight As when 20 of their SPM candidates achieved that result.

This was followed by SMK Francis and SMK Gajah Berang where 16 students from each of the school scored straight As.

Chew Sin Hong, Tan Nee Yi, and Soh Sheah Yih from SMK Gajah Berang and Li Chiun Lin from SMK St Francis were straight 11 1As students.
