KUALA LUMPUR: Watching the live telecast of the NAM opening ceremony yesterday was especially meaningful for 82-year-old Datuk Abdul Aziz Ahmad, who had in 1955 witnessed the Bandung meeting which planted the seed for the movement.
Abdul Aziz, who still has more than 100 pictures of the Bandung event, which he attended as a freelance reporter with Indonesia’s Antara News Agency, was excited to spot people he had befriended decades ago.
