KUALA LUMPUR: There will be free commuter train rides for those attending the Malaysians for Peace anti-war rally tomorrow at Stadium Bukit Jalil here.

Passengers can take the trains from any station in the Klang Valley to the Bank Negara or Bandar Tasik Selatan stations, between 1pm and 8pm, where they can continue to Bukit Jalil via STAR LRT – also for free.

“There will be 18 extra commuter services from 10pm to 3am for those returning home after the rally,” KTM Berhad managing director Mohd Salleh Abdullah told reporters after he handed over signatures by KTMB staff to Azimi Daim, the campaign media co-ordinator.

“Besides KTMB, STAR-LRT and Intrakota have also supported the rally,” said Azimi, hoping more public transport companies would offer help.

“We are aiming for a crowd of 200,000,” he said yesterday. Those attending the rally will be treated to a cultural show and performances by KRU and Siti Nurhaliza.
