412 to meet in Ironman race

LANGKAWI: The 4th Ironman Langkawi International Triathlon scheduled for Sunday here has received a record number of participants as most of the 412 triathletes begin arriving here for the world's toughest endurance race. 

Japan has the most contingent of triathletes with 130 competitors while the Americans have sent 21 to compete in the championship which begins at 6am, where the competitors are required to swim 3.8km, cycle 180.2km and run 42.2km within a stipulated time of 17 hours.
