KUALA LUMPUR: Youths, rather than their parents who refuse to allow them to undergo compulsory national service next year, will be penalised under proposed amendments to the National Service Act 1952.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the youths could be charged for evading national service and face penalties ranging from fines and jail terms to community service.
