KUALA LUMPUR: Permits to hold sales outside the sales carnival months of March, August and December would only be allowed under “emergency'' circumstances such as business closures, says Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Datuk Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir.
Kadir said the decision was made following an inter-ministerial meeting last week with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, which is responsible for issuing permits to hold sales, on ways to make Malaysia a world-class shopping destination.
