Senior citizens to get more attention

KUALA TERENGGANU: The Government has made serious efforts to ensure the health and welfare of senior citizens because they will make up 7% of the country’s projected population of 25 million by 2007. 

National Unity and Social Development Minister Datuk Dr Siti Zaharah Sulaiman said under international standards, Malaysia would be categorised as an ageing society if 7% of the population were senior citizens.
