Trader, 48, jailed and fined for CBT

KUANTAN: A trader was sentenced to three years’ jail and fined RM5,000 by the Sessions Court here after he was found guilty for criminal breach of trust involving RM54,064.13. 

K. Nodeson, 48, committed the offence at the Bank of Commerce, Jalan Telok Sisek here on Dec 18, 1997. 

Nodesan was found guilty of misappropriating a BOC fixed deposit receipt valued at RM54,064.13 and cashed it without following proper procedures. 

He committed the crime when he was the SRJK (T) Jalan Penjara Parent-Teacher Association chairman. 

Nodesan was charged under Section 406 of the Penal Code which carried the maximum jail term of 10 years and a fine of not more than RM20,000 and was also liable for whipping. 

Sessions Judge Zainal Azman Abdul Aziz ordered the sentence to commence yesterday. 

Nodesan was represented by Rizal Chek Hashim on behalf of Haranay, Hisham, Anikah and Associates.
