SEPANG: Eight Malaysian truck drivers bid tearful goodbyes to friends and families last night as they left for Jordan to provide assistance under the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the event of a war in Iraq.
The group, consisting of drivers from several local freight companies, would be based in the ICRC's camp in Amman for training and travel to Kermanshah, Iran to be stationed there for any eventuality.
