MERSING: Police have recovered the body of one of the four fishermen who went missing off Pulau Seri Buat in Rompin on Friday, at Pantai Pulau Aceh, near Penyabung yesterday.
Acting OCPD Asst Supt Abdul Aziz Abdul Latiff said the victim's body, which has not been identified, was found washed ashore by villagers about 8am.
He said police had sent the remains to the Mersing hospital for a post mortem to establish the deceased's identity.
He said police would continue with the search and rescue operations for the three remaining fishermen with the help of marine police teams from Mersing, Tampoi in Johor Baru and Rompin in Pahang.
On Friday, the four were among five fishermen on board a vessel when they encountered difficulties upon reaching Pulau Seri Buat near here.
One them, Handra Tawil, 33, was rescued by a passing fishing boat about noon on Saturday.
