KUALA LUMPUR: The Agriculture Ministry has proposed whipping, in addition to higher jail sentences and fines, for rice smugglers.
Calling such activities as sabotaging the nation, its minister, Datuk Effendi Norwawi, said a crackdown on rice smugglers would be one of the ministry’s main agenda.
