Umno leaders willing to make way for new faces

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno leaders said they would adhere to any decision by the national leadership, including directives to make way for new faces in their state line-ups or withdraw as election candidates. 

This follows a statement on Sunday by Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad that it would be good for party leaders to resign so that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi could make fresh appointments (when he takes over in October).
