KOTA KINABALU: The armed forces’ continuous vigilance on its rank and file led to the recent arrest of a sergeant for suspected involvement in the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) group, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“That is how we discovered the activities of a sergeant in Labuan. We informed the police and action was taken accordingly,” he said after launching the Sabah Umno membership and voter registration drive here yesterday.
