KUALA LUMPUR: Hang Chin Pheng is the Federal Territory MCA Youth chairman for 2002/ 2005 after obtaining support from seven of the 11 Youth divisions.

Four divisions – Kepong, Bukit Bintang, Titiwangsa and Seputeh – staged a walkout when the appointment was put to a vote at the FT liaison committee meeting chaired by Datuk Tan Chai Ho here last Friday night.

Hang, 40, is also the wing’s national vice-chairman.

His challenger Yee Poh Ping has been appointed the FT Youth deputy chairman.

He said Tan was expected to submit the results of the Youth line-up to the party headquarters this week for endorsement by the party’s presidential council and central committee.

Hang said his immediate task after the endorsement was to call a FT Youth meeting and appoint the organising secretary and bureau chiefs.

He hoped all members would close ranks as soon as possible and join forces to serve the party and community.
