THE STAR on Oct 5, 2002, carried a story entitled “Nigerians jailed for cheating businessman” in which it was reported that two persons, one of whom was referred to as John Frace Oguala, 25, had admitted to cheating one Michael Leong Cheong and had been sentenced to three months in jail.
The report was erroneous in that John Frace Oguala did not admit to cheating and instead claimed trial and was later acquitted on Nov 29, 2002.
