Veteran journalist dies at 78

KANGAR: Mahayuddin Datuk Habib, former Warta Negara part-time journalist who once covered the Baling talks in 1956, died of a heart attack in Alor Star yesterday. He was 78. 

Mahayuddin died at 3.20am after being treated for three days in a private hospital in Alor Star. 

Mahayuddin, who was also a former Perlis state executive councillor, leaves behind a 74-year-old widow, Salimah Arshad, 10 children, 25 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. – Bernama
