PUTRAJAYA: Negotiations on the state line-up for the MCA Youth in Penang, Federal Territory and Negri Sembilan will be headed by their respective state liaison committee chairmen, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik said.

He said this was decided at the central committee meeting on Wednesday and the state chairmen concerned would conclude the negotiations as soon as possible under the MCA peace plan.

Except for the three states, the rest already had their lists endorsed. The latest was the Selangor line-up, which was endorsed by the central committee on Wednesday.

OLD FRIENDS:Dr Ling in discussion with Kusakari who together with Hirano paid a courtesy call on the Transport Minister in Putrajaya yesterday.

“The outcome of the negotiations has to be referred to the presidential council or central committee for endorsement,” Dr Ling, also Transport Minister, said after receiving a courtesy call from NYK president T. Kusakari at his office here yesterday.

Kusakari was accompanied by vice-president Y. Hirano and managing director of Trans-Asia Shipping Corporation (Tasco) Bhd Lee Check Poh.

On the courtesy call, Dr Ling said Kusakari and Hirano were old friends and they “always made it a point to meet up.”

He said NYK was a very successful company with huge transportation business all over the world, particularly in Malaysia.

Describing their 30-minute discussion yesterday as “very good”, Dr Ling said the ministry would continue to assist the company in expanding their business in Malaysia.
