SHAH ALAM: The share fraud trial of businessman Datuk Soh Chee Wen should get going in the interest of the public, witnesses and the prosecution, Deputy Public Prosecutor Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil said yesterday.

“The defence has made an application last week, in the interest of justice for the accused, for a stay or a postponement in proceedings pending the outcome of appeals made to the higher courts. However, the interest of the accused should not be seen in isolation of the public’s right, the right of the prosecution and the interest of witnesses, he told Judge Suraya Othman in opposing the defence application.
