LONDON: British Energy Minister Brian Wilson, due for a two-day visit to Malaysia beginning Monday, has urged British companies to “look East” for bigger business opportunities, particularly in areas of sustainable energy.
Wilson, whose “Sell Britain” tour of South-East Asia began in the Philippines, will be meeting Energy, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Amar Leo Moggie and visit Petronas and Tenaga Nasional Bhd headquarters.
The focus of the visit will be oil and gas projects in the region as well as providing sustainable energy sources.
“British companies have demonstrated that they have the expertise and experience to flourish in markets such as Malaysia and the Philippines.
“During these visits, I expect to be able to announce the awarding of major new contracts for companies in the region,” he said. – Bernama
