TANGKAK: The Human Resources Ministry wants the leadership feud in the MTUC to end soon to maintain harmony and stability in the nation’s industrial sector.
Minister Datuk Dr Fong Chan Onn said the leaders should be matured enough to realise that such disputes could have a negative impact on the sector, especially on industrial harmony among members.
“We are asking both parties involved in the feud to find an amicable solution.
“At present we have no plan to intervene as we want those involved to solve their crisis internally,” he said after attending a dinner with Muar Chinese community leaders at Sungai Senduk on Friday.
Dr Fong said the feud, if allowed to continue, could weaken MTUC.
He said it would be good for the leaders to sit down and discuss their problem.
He said Malaysia needed a strong industrial sector and any leadership crisis within the MTUC could weaken the sector.
