PENANG: Wanita MCA members here have put their baking skills to charitable use by making Chinese New Year cakes and cookies to raise funds for Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Utar).

Its state chief Ooi Siew Kim said each of the wing’s 11 divisions would have members making certain types of sweet delicacies such as kueh kapit (love letters), kueh bahulu, peanut cookies and cakes during their free time.

“The cookies would then be sold at markets and through various organisations to raise some RM10,000 for Utar,” she said.

Those interested to buy the delicacies can contact Miss Aw at 04-2267827 (state MCA headquarters).
