> Nannies detained after CCTV footage of abuse goes viral
Three nannies of a day care centre in Sepang have been detained after CCTV footage that showed them treating infants and toddlers roughly went viral. Police arrested the three, aged between 20 and 25, after receiving 10 police reports over the abusive treatment caught on video. One of the suspects was seen throwing a young boy roughly onto a mattress in the CCTV footage, which was widely circulated from March 31. The woman then picked up the infant, who was lying face down, and threw him onto the mattress again before carrying him into a room with other children. Another scene showed a different nanny reacting when a toddler threw an object in her direction, aggressively lifting up and putting the child down. It is understood that the victims seen in the viral video are aged 10 months and three years respectively. According to a source, police have contacted the owner of the day care centre to help in the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
