> Man happily married to mum's friend despite 25-year age gap

Despite their huge age gap, Mohammad Azwin Kamarulzaman, 30, and wife, Noriha Nordin, 55, are both happily married and see each other as the perfect match. Noriha was a close friend of Mohammad Azwin's mother, Sabariah Tompang, 57, before she became her daughter-in-law in 2012. Mohammad Azwin had previously referred to Noriha as "umi" (which means mother) as a sign of respect before they became husband and wife. He said that he began to fall in love with her in 2011 when Noriha, who was then a single mother, sent her three children to attend his swimming classes at Komplex Renang Melaka. "Her persistence in running a fish farm to support her children while facing a marriage crisis with her ex-husband made me want to know her better," he said. Noriha, on the other hand, was touched that Mohammad Azwin did not mind that they won't be able to have their own children as she had a hysterectomy in 2007. "His good character is loved by my whole family, including my children who now call him father," Noriha said.
