Grilled pork seller receives compound notice

A 34-year-old trader was fined by the local district council for selling grilled pork openly outside the Pasar Awam Sabak Bernam Friday. According to Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) secretary Awaluddin Zakaria, the man was operating without a licence. Besides the RM250 compound, officers have also seized his weighing scale to ensure he stops operating his business immediately. Awaluddin said it was regretful that the man was insensitive to Muslims in the area, especially those who often go there for breakfast. "We really did not want to stop him from doing business, but not in a public place (next to the market) because it would touch on the sensitivity of Muslim community there," he explained.
