A decomposing female body was found in a black luggage bag that was dumped outside a drain at Kampung Bukit Kapar in Meru, Klang, Monday night. Mohd Faizul Salleh, 29, said he discovered the suspicious looking item with foul odour when he was disposing of garbage at 10.30pm. He quickly alerted the gruesome discovery to his uncle Zaharin Md Sumari. Police believed that the victim was dead for at least three to five days ago. "The body has been sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah for autopsy to determine the cause of death and the victim's identity," said a police source. Klang Utara deputy police chief Supt Nor Omar Sappi said it is believed that the victim was killed at another location before her body was abandoned near the residential area.

Perak Health Department has denied a viral message in WhatsApp, which claimed that a student had passed away due to heatstroke in the state. State health director Datuk Dr Juita Ghazalie said early post-mortem results showed that the student had died from heart complications. Dr Juita said it has not yet been ascertained whether it was a case of sudden death or overexertion. A source from Hospital Seri Manjung had also denied the post about the deceased, who was reportedly an electrical engineering student at Seri Manjung Vocational College.
