A 61-year-old Chinese man, who embraced Islam in October last year, appeared calm when it was time to go for circumcision at a mosque in Kuala Pilah. Ali Wong Abdullah, whose original name was Wong Ting You, said he was not embarassed at all because "in order to be a Muslim, we must circumcised and to be more pure". Many of his friends had tried to make him nervous, but Ali Wong maintained his cool and said they were just joking. Ali Wong said his heart opened to Islam after dreaming of a man reciting the al-Quran to him for three nights in a row in October last year.
>Be sensitive when uploading photos and videos, says women minister
The Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim has advised the public, especially women, to be sensitive and ethical when uploading photos and videos onto social media. While noting that people have their rights to upload content, she said it should be done inteligently and at an appropriate time. Once on the Internet, some irresponsible parties could manipulate the content and create issues. "Therefore my advice is to be aware of ethics, values and cultures, as well as be wise in taking actions. Don't give people the chance to criticise (you)," she said. She was commenting on the issue where a woman received brickbats from netizens for uploading a photo of her breastfeeding. Nonetheless, Rohani clarified that the ministry has always been promoting and supporting the breastfeeding movement.
