Sixteen guest relations officers (GROs) from China and Vietnam were arrested at a nightclub in Taman Melaka Raya, Malacca, Tuesday. In the 9.30pm operation, the ladies involved had just started their work and were seen in rooms with their customers. The moment immigration officers raided the club, they started to run but they were nabbed. A 28-year-old local man was arrested and will be investigated under Act 55(B) of the Immigration Act for hiring foreign workers without valid documents. The girls have been sent to the Machap Umnoo Immigration Detention Centre in Alor Gajah.

A mentally-ill man burnt two stalls just because he could not get glue from a cobbler. The incident, which happened at 10.20pm Tuesday, saw a newspaper vendor’s stall and the cobbler’s shop, both made out of wood, razed. The cobbler, Zuwira Zainuddin, 41, only knew about the incident from his sister and claimed that he had lost shoes and equipment worth RM8,000.
>Lost girl reunited with family after few hours
A six-year-old girl who found wandering around in Kota Damansara on Wednesday, was reunited with her parents a few hours later. The girl, believed to have been separated from her family, was found by passers-by. She was taken to nearby police station where her parents came to pick her up about 12.50pm. Her parents thanked the general public for the help.

CHINESE singer Wang Feng has temporary stopped working to be with his wife, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, who is expected to give birth this month or early next year. Wang has gone to Los Angeles to be with her. In February, Zhang, 36, accepted a marriage proposal from Wang, who has two daughters with his ex-wife and an ex-girlfriend. The couple registered their marriage in Hong Kong on June 29.
