Dumped illegals 'treated like animals'


A Johor state representative has suggested that Muslims be banned from working in 24-hour convenient stores that sell alcohol. Kukup assemblyman Suhaimi Salleh said the issue of alcohol sale involving Malay staff should not be compromised because it was against Islam. "The hukum (tenet) is clear. Drinking (alcohol) is haram, selling is haram, packing the bottles is haram, lifting the boxes into the store is haram, and arranging (the alcohol) is also haram," he said at the state assembly sitting Tuesday. He urged relevant agencies to view the issue seriously as it affected Malay dignity, especially among the youth.

Several pictures of a female student being stripped and attacked by a group of friends have gone viral in cyberspace. The incident, in Nanjing, China, occurred when the victim accused of having stolen a mobile phone from of the attackers. Police have since nabbed two suspects.
