> Sons beat up father for cutting off mother’s allowance
A 51-year-old man was heavily assaulted by his three sons for allegedly discontinuing his first wife’s (their mother) monthly allowance following his second marriage. The three sons and their cousin are reported to have attacked the victim at his second wife’s house in Bandar Tasik Kesuma, Beranang on Tuesday night. The victim lodged a report at the Semenyih police station at 5.15am Wednesday. Police have remanded all four suspects, aged between 16 and 25, to facilitate investigations.
> Lawyer: Sirul does not want to return to Malaysia
Sirul Azhar Umar, who is currently under detention in Australia, is reported to have told his lawyers that he does not want to return to Malaysia where the death sentence awaits him for the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu. “Sirul did say that he does not want to return. Anyone in a situation such as his, definitely would not want to come back” his lawyer Hasnal Rezua Merican said after meeting Sirul in Sudney.
> Man assaults mother after failing in bid to marry cousin
A 26-year-old jobless man assaulted his mother after she failed to obtain her sister’s permission for her daughter to marry the man. The suspect reportedly got upset after his mother failed to get the permission for him to marry his 22-year-old cousin and punched the woman before threatening to kill her. The woman lodged a police report over the incident however, when her son found out, he attempted to ram her down with his motorcycle.
