The thousands of dead “bronok” (a type of sea cucumber found in Langkawi) which washed up on Pantai Kuala Muda two days ago are not signs of an imminent tsunami. Kuah state assemblyman Nor Saidi Nanyan has clarified that no unusual seismic activity has been reported. He added it is not the first time bronok washed up on the shores, and that the incident could possibly have been due to strong waves.

Self-proclaimed “Future Richest Man in the World” Zhang Jian who had been leading a luxurious life was made to sleep on the floor of his lockup cell, following his arrest in Phuket, Thailand. According to a warden, Zhang was treated like other prisoners during his detention.
