It’s a ‘necessary political gamble’


JOHOR Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad still had 481 days before the expiry of his mandate from the previous General Election, GE14, in 2018 but he decided to dissolve the state assembly early anyway.

He says it was necessary to form a strong and stable government in Johor so that the state can return to its former “glory days”. The 63-year-old veteran Umno politician recently met up with Sunday Star to explain the contentious move and talk about the upcoming state polls.
