AN epidemiologist at Columbia University known as the “virus hunter” remains optimistic for Beijing and Washington to work together in fighting the pandemic.

W. Ian Lipkin, director of the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, said China’s decision-making process and infrastructure investment contributed to the country containing the Covid-19 outbreak.
