In Terengganu, electric fencing protects farms and villages from elephants.
Terengganu may still be forest-clad, but plantations and farms are inching ever closer to these wild habitats. The result is human-wildlife conflict, a term used to describe instances when wild animals venture into villages, orchards and oil palm plantations which should not be so close to the forest in the first place.
