Don't miss it: Taiwan scholarship programmes


The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Malaysia is inviting Malaysians who wish to further their studies in Taiwan to apply for its scholarship programmes.

> MOE Taiwan Scholarship

Application deadline: April 30

Offered by Taiwan’s Education Ministry, the scholarship covers tuition and miscellaneous fees of TWD$40,000 (RM4,980) each semester, and a monthly living allowance of TWD$15,000 (RM1,868) for undergraduates and TWD$20,000 (RM2,490) for postgraduates.

> MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship

Application deadline: March 31

Designed for Mandarin learners, the scholarship supports study at any accredited, university-affiliated language centre in Taiwan. Recipients receive a monthly stipend of TWD$28,000 (RM3,486). The scholarship is available for two months (summer course), three months or six months, from Sept 1, 2026, to Aug 31, 2027.

Applicants must complete the online application at https://taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/Apply for the above scholarships before the respective deadlines and submit all hard-copy application documents to TECO in Malaysia.

> Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Scholarship Programme

Application deadline: March 15

Open to Malaysian students who pursue one of 28 specified master’s or doctoral programmes at 18 partner universities, the scholarship offers full funding, including return airfare, accommodation, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs and a monthly allowance.

Applications must be submitted via the Taiwan ICDF online application system at https://web.icdf.org.tw/ICDF_TSP/WelcomeStart.aspx.
