Scholarships to study in Taiwan


Application deadlines: March 15 and April 30 (Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship)

> Taiwan Scholarship

Offered by the Education Ministry of Taiwan, the Taiwan Scholarship provides each recipient with funding for tuition and miscellaneous expenses of NT$40,000 (RM5,440) each semester, and a monthly living allowance of NT$15,000 (RM2,040) for undergraduates and NT$20,000 (RM2,720) for postgraduates.

> Huayu Enrichment Scholarship

The Education Ministry of Taiwan’s Huayu Enrichment Scholarship is offered to Mandarin learners to study at any accredited university-affiliated language centre in Taiwan.

· The recipient will be awarded a monthly stipend of NT$25,000 (RM3,400).

· The duration of the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship is either three or six months.

> Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Scholarship

· For Malaysians to pursue master’s or doctoral degrees (29 specified programmes in 19 partner universities).

· Scholars will receive a full scholarship, including return airfare, housing, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs and a monthly allowance.

Note: Applicants of the Taiwan Scholarship and the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship must complete the online application (taiwanscholarship.moe.gov.tw/Apply) by April 30 and send all the hardcopy application documents to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia. Online applications (web.icdf.org.tw/ICDF_TSP/WelcomeStart.aspx) for the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship must be computed by March 15.
