> Taiping 150 Ride 2024, a cycling event held in conjunction with the Visit Perak Year 2024 celebration and the 150th anniversary of Taiping town, will take place on Dec 8.
> Beginning and concluding at the iconic Taiping Lake Gardens, the event will kick off with a flag-off scheduled for 6.45am.
> Participants will embark on a scenic and challenging route that traverses the beautiful landscapes of Sepetang, Simpang Empat and Kamunting.
> There are three main categories for participants: competitive rides of 90km and 60km; and a 20km fun ride open to cyclists of all ages and skill levels.
> Supported by the Education Ministry, the event is free for students aged seven to 17.
> Participants will take home a goodie bag, a commemorative T-shirt, an online certificate, a finisher’s medal, and a meal voucher.
> The top five winners in each competitive category will be awarded cash prizes and medals in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
